Project description
The All-Weather Drone research project aims to investigate the effects of extreme weather conditions such as rain, snow and icing on multicopters with a maximum take-off mass of 25 kg. One focus is on the development of detection capabilities, which include both hardware-based sensors and software algorithms. These are intended to enable the safe operation of multicopters in adverse weather conditions, including the implementation of ice protection systems.
Brimatech is carrying out various steps as part of the project. The first step is to identify relevant stakeholders and determine their needs and requirements. Decision-makers are actively involved in the process. Market and trend analyses are then carried out in order to evaluate current developments. The research also includes the development of value chains, business models and financial and cost-benefit analyses to ensure the sustainable use of the solutions developed. In parallel, financial and non-financial validations of innovations are carried out, including the development of stakeholder acceptance indicators and the evaluation of technologies and services.
